a. Developed curriculum and assessment as part of Environmental Science unit that had students develop their own NGO to work on critical environmental issue in China. The final assessment involved presenting the work of their fictitious organization to the school community at the SAS 8th Grade Environmental Issues Conference.

b. As part of Environmental science unit took all classes into the local community to collect water and soil samples that were later analyzed in the classroom to assess environmental impacts in shanghai.

2. Continuously revised and updated lesson plans based on experience with 8th grade students at SAS. Used a wide variety of assessments including, labs, presentations, debates, and written test to allow for broad based authentic assessment.

Each unit, assessment and assignment was constructed around the Grade 8 SAS standards and benchmarks Science
Year long curriculum with scaffolding was constructed at the beginning of the year and is continually updated.

b. Met with 8th grade team on bi-weekly bases to develop Advisory curriculum.
