Additional Academic Activities

  • Continued to develop and grow both the MS Roots and Shoots Program and the MS Organic Garden
  • Expanded the data collection trip in my Environmental Science Unit
  • Coordinated and chaperoned an overnight trip and service project for the Roots and Shoots elective

School Leadership
  • Served as head of MS science department
  • Served on Science curriculum task force for second and final year

Extra Curricular Activities
  • Went on China Alive Scouting trip to Guilin/Yangshuo
  • Chaperoned MUN trip to KL



2007-2008

Additional Academic Activities
In addition to developing a dynamic and engaging 8th grade science curriculum I:
  • Organized the 2nd annual 8th grade Environmental Leadership Conference in November 2007.
  • Developed a middle school Roots and Shoots program and elective course.
  • Developed a middle school Organic Gardening program, elective course and created the first SAS Pudong student garden!
  • As part of the 8th grade leadership program I organized and coordinated the an Environmental Leadership Team

School Leadership
  • This year I served as 8th grade team leader for the second semester.
  • Was trip leader for the 8th grade China Alive trip to Guilin/Yangshuo
  • Served on the 6-12 Science Review Task Force
  • Facilitated a CFG group with a focus on technology integration in the classroom.
  • Facilitated a campus discussion focused on the "Greening of SAS" with over 20 staff members as part of campus wide professional development activities.

Extra Curricular Activities
  • Coached CISSA senior boys soccer.
  • Chaperoned MS MUN trip to conference in Beijing.
